Chemere Ellis Tapped For Leadership Roles In Multiple Bar Organizations

Guerra & Partners is pleased to announce that Chemere Ellis has been selected to Co-chair the Securities Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association (HCBA) and Chair the Scholarship Committee of the George Edgecomb Bar Association (GEBA). Chemere’s selection to these leadership roles is a testament to her passion for public service and commitment to personal and professional growth.

As Co-chair of HCBA’s Securities Law Section, Chemere aims to demystify securities practice for Florida practitioners by providing practical training on complex areas of securities practice through articles and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programming.  She will touch on topics such as litigating securities disputes before self-regulatory organizations, agency enforcement actions, restrictive covenants in the securities arena, and cybersecurity. Since its inception, GEBA has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to college-bound students in Hillsborough County, and Chemere is thrilled to lead the organization’s efforts going forward. As Tampa’s largest predominantly African American voluntary bar association, GEBA is also committed to promoting and recognizing African Americans within the legal professional and judiciary, and providing citizens with the tools to access and navigate America’s complex legal system.
